KRIS Battle Creek: Chart Page

Area Basin-wide
Topic Habitat: Residual Pool Depth (Scour) All Battle WA Sites 2001-2002

Caption:  This chart shows the average residual pool depth of scour pools at all Battle Creek Watershed Assessment aquatic monitoring sites. Scour pools do not include those formed by large wood. The greatest depth occurred in lower Battle Creek at site #054 just above Coleman Hatchery where average residual pool depth was over six feet. The next greatest residual pool depths occur in streams on U.S. Forest Service Lands: NF Digger (#042), Nanny (#051), SF Digger (#063), and the upper North Fork Battle Creek (NF #049). The latter is below NF Battle Creek Reservoir, which may trap sediment and help buffer pool filling. Data from Terraqua (2004). See Info Links for more information.
