Habitat: Big Wood Pieces/1000 m at all Battle WA Sites |

    |
Caption:  This chart shows large wood data from Battle Creek Watershed Assessment sites but does not account for stream width, similar to EMDS rating curves used by Terraqua (2004). Larger tributaries can be naturally low in big wood because it moves downstream with large flows and also oak woodlands at lower elevation might yield less large wood than coniferous forest. Terraqua (2004) made the observation that "Sites with 'unfavorable' levels of wood were clustered in the north central and west central portions of the watershed but no clear geographical pattern existed in the distribution of sites with favorable wood frequencies."
