Land Use: Matanzas Creek Watershed |
|
Caption: This chart shows that more than 75% of the Matanzas Creek watershed has been developed. The Roadway and Commercial components, which are likely near 100% impervious, make up approximately a quarter of the watershed. Large amounts of total impervious area (TIA) in this watershed are likely increasing flood peaks. Aquatic insect scores (SLSI, 2002) show very low biodiversity, which is expected in watersheds with high TIA (see Aquatic Insect Topics in this sub-basin). Data are from the Sustainable Land Stewardship Institute (2002) and a study performed for the City of Santa Rosa. See InfoLinks for more information.
