Aquatic Inverts: Santa Rosa Cr Tribs Richness Index 2000-2002 |
|
Caption: The Sustainable Land Stewardship Institute conducted aquatic invertebrate studies of Santa Rosa Creek and its tributaries from 2000-2002. This chart shows the total number of species found in samples or the Richness Index. SLSI (2002) noted that "For the six reaches, mean taxonomic richness ranged from 13 to 24 taxa in 2000, 15 to 24 in 2001 and 14 to 17 in 2002." Harrington (1999) indicates that streams with fewer than 26 species of aquatic insects are showing signs of impairment. Study conducted for the City of Santa Rosa. See InfoLinks for more information on sampling methods and findings.
