Habitat: Americano Creek Riparian Corridor Vegetation 1988 |
|
Caption: The vegetation of the riparian corridor of Americano Creek and its tributaries were surveyed in 1988. Three categories of habitat were distinguished and measured. These include grazed pasture with no trees, grazed willows and ungrazed willows. Note the designation "Tributaries" in the chart includes all tributaries north of Bloomfield and south as far as Two Rock. These data were collected by Merritt Smith Consulting (MSC) for the City of Santa Rosa. MSC noted that there was little or no recruitment of younger plants among the existing willow stands and that this habitat would be likely to disappear unless livestock access was controlled. On the tributaries grazed willow class may include other tree species, primarily Eucalyptus. See Info Links for more information.
