Caption:  This chart shows surveys of the Garcia River Estuary cross-section XS-2. Surveys were conducted in 1991, 1995, and 1998. Jackson (1998) noted that "the cross section area varied by less than 0.5% over the three surveys. The scour hole on the left bank side channel appears to offset the deposition in the main channel on the 1998 survey. Of course, the deposition in the main channel may be an artifact of our attempt to estimate the thalweg elevation." Data are from Jackson (1998). See InfoLinks for more information.
