Fish: Fall Chinook Returns to Battle Cr. & Coleman Hatchery 1952-2003 |
|
Caption: The fall chinook returns to Battle Creek and Coleman National Fish Hatchery from 1952 to 2003 are displayed above. Escapement has ranged from a low of 1770 in 1978 to a high of over 450,000 in 2002. High returns in the last decade are inflated by stray Coleman Hatchery fish. Carcass surveys are conducted by the California Department of Fish and Game (see Info Links or Chart Table for more information). Data from Coleman Hatchery is from U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service shared through the California Department of Fish and Game "Grand Tab" Sacramento River escapement table.
