Habitat: Pool Type Occurrence, North Fork and Tributaries |
|
Caption: The above chart may reflect coho rearing habitat quality in tributaries of the North Fork Ten Mile River by illustrating the relative proportions of scour pools, main channel pools, and backwater pools classified during stream surveys. Scour pools and backwater pools are associated with stream channel complexity and processes that create and maintain good fish habitat. Scour pool frequency varied from 22% (Gulch 8) to 82%(Mill Creek), and backwater pool frequency varied from 0% (Gulch 11 and Patsy Gulch) to 10% (Cavanough Gulch) at the time of surveys in 1995-96. Streams are sorted by basin area. See Info Links for more information.
