Live oak form the riparian of this headwater seasonal tributary of Franz Creek as it passes next to an orchard in the background. This channel appears to have been straightened here, probably to accommodate more agricultural use, but the channel has been allowed to stabilize and now has a buffer of natural vegetation to filter overland flow from adjacent orchard. The canopy appears to be providing shade, particle size of the stream bed looks suitable for salmonid spawning and the creek is maintaining some surface flow and potential rearing habitat for juvenile steelhead.
