Fish: 1963 Chemical Treatment - Maacama Creek |
|
Caption: This chart displays the number of fish mortalities by species resulting from chemical treatment in Maacama Creek in September, 1963. The application of poisonous chemicals to the stream during summer was intended to remove non-salmonids. By causing mortality to all species, the treatment provided an effective sampling of fish community structure. The sampling shows a population dominated by steelhead, roach, suckers, and squawfish. Click on InfoLinks for more information. CDFG stream survey documenting chemical treatment is contained in the KRIS bibliography.
