Habitat: Alexander Valley/Middle Reach Type by Length, 1991 Vs 1998 |
|
Caption: This chart shows a comparison of Russian River habitat types by length measured for both the Alexander Valley and Middle Reaches of the Russian River in 1991 and 1998. The Middle Reach is in the vicinity of Windsor. While data suggest that pool frequency has been diminished, differences between 1991 and 1998 may not actually be due to changes in the morphology but instead could be the result of differences in habitat classification between investigators. Stream flow may also change habitat typing results and river flow during the 1991 study was approximately 150 cfs, compared to approximately 220 cfs during the 1998 survey. Data were provided by Sonoma County Water Agency. See InfoLinks for more information.
