|
Caption: This chart shows the potential sediment yield to streams by source for sites inventoried in the East Austin Creek basin by Pacific Watershed Associates (2002). The total estimated sediment saved by the joint PWA/State Parks project was 16,862 cubic yards. PWA (2002) characterized the project as follows: "The road upgrading and decommissioning work completed on this project is a significant step toward realization of long term salmon habitat protection and improvement in the East Austin Creek watershed.....The primary objective of the project was to implement cost-effective erosion control and erosion prevention work on roads that were identified as a part of the comprehensive watershed assessment and inventory project for the basin."
