Habitat: Maximum Pool Depths in Ward Cr and Tribs 1996 |

    |
Caption:  This chart shows the maximum depth of pools measured during California Department of Fish and Game habitat typing surveys in Ward Creek and its tributaries in 1996. Streams in the chart are sorted by Strahler order (with larger streams at the top), and reaches are numbered upstream beginning at stream mouths. A great majority of the pools in Ward Creek (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th order) and its smaller tributaries (2nd and 3rd order) are less than 3 feet deep. Pools deeper than three feet are preferred habitat for juvenile coho and older age steelhead. See InfoLinks for more information.
