Habitat: Maximum Pool Depth Mainstem Navarro Sub-basin 1996 |
|
Caption: The chart shows maximum pool depths from habitat typing data for the Mainstem Navarro River sub-basin tributaries carried out in 1996. The data illustrate how pools with depths in excess of 3 feet are rare in the sub-basin. Streams are sorted by Strahler Order, with larger streams at the top. Five of the eleven streams surveyed did not contain pools greater than 3 feet deep. Pools less than three feet deep are less than optimal rearing habitat for coho salmon juveniles (Brown et al., 1994) and steelhead yearlings (Reeves, 1988). See Info Links for more information.
