Dissolved Oxygen: Minimum Lost River Basin at 8 Sites (NCRWQCB) 1992 |
|
Caption: The North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board (NCRWQCB) staff measured dissolved oxygen by hand at eight sites in the Lost River Basin from 1992 to 1995 (Winchester, 1995). Dissolved oxygen fell below North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board Standards of 5 ppm at four sites during September 1992 while measurements in June did not. The measurements taken were most during the middle of the day and may not reflect minimum conditions at the sites measured. Very low dissolved oxygen levels may only prevail for short periods of time during the day, mostly just before sunrise (Gwynne, 1993). See Info Links for more information.
