Caption: Maximum daily water temperature comparisons of lower Big Creek above Hayfork Creek in 1995, 1996 and 1997 are displayed above. While water temperatures in 1995 remained mostly below stressful for salmonids (20 C), they exceeded stressful levels for extended durations in 1996 and 1997. Lower Big Creek temperatures are substantially elevated due to flow depletion and agricultural runoff from pastures. Data provided by NRCS Weaverville. See Picture for a map of gauge locations.
