Temperature: Floating Weekly Average SF Trinity (4) bl Butter 1991-92 |
|
Caption: The floating weekly average water temperature of the South Fork Trinity River below Butter Creek is shown above for the years 1991-1992. Water temperatures in the South Fork Trinity River below Butter Creek were not optimal for salmonids throughout the summer in both years. The maximum weekly average temperature (MWAT) exceeds the threshold for suitability for coho salmon according to Welsh et al. (2001), although coho may not have reared in the mainstem South Fork historically. Similar temperature thresholds have not been confirmed for the Klamath Basin or other salmonid species; therefore, the threshold above is shown only for reference. Data provided by Shasta Trinity National Forest but was trimmed for outliers by the Forest Science Project (now known as the Institute for Forest and Watershed Management).
