Temperature: Maximum Hayfork Tributaries (Carr, Salt, Big) 1995 |
|
Caption: Maximum water temperatures lower Salt, Carr and Big Creeks during the summer of 1995 show that Big Creek was the coolest and generally remained below stressful limits for salmonids. Salt Creek reached acute stress levels chronically throughout August and September. All three streams are affected by water withdrawals for agriculture, which can exacerbate temperature problems. Carr and Salt Creeks also have open riparian conditions in some reaches due to grazing activity. Data provided by NRCS, Weaverville. See Picture for a map of locations.
