Temperature: Floating Weekly Average Shasta R Anderson Grade 1994-02 |
|
Caption: The floating weekly average water temperature of the Shasta River at Anderson Grade Road from 1994 to 2002 is displayed here. It shows a reach of the river that is highly suitable for salmonids through mid-June, but which exceeds stressful and even lethal temperatures during summer. Salmonids cease growth at 68 degrees F (McCullough, 1999) and 77 degrees F (25 C) is thought to be lethal for Pacific salmon species (Sullivan, 2000). Data are from the Shasta CRMP and represent a compilation of data from all agencies and cooperators that have placed automated probes in the river since 1994. See Info Links for more information.
