Temperature: Temp Max Butler Cr: Water, Riparian & Upslope Areas 1995 |
|
Caption: This chart shows the maximum daily water temperatures during August and September of 1995 in Butler Creek and the air temperature in the riparian and upslope areas. Notice that water temperature remained below the level stressful for Salmonids during the summer, providing a cold water refugia. Data were collected from automated temperature sensors called Hobotemps, which were anchored in flowing water in the shade and in the riparian and upslope areas next to the stream site. Hobotemps were monitored by students at Forks of Salmon School.
