Fish: Coho Adult Population Above Junction City |
|
Caption: Coho salmon were counted and marked California Department of Fish and Game at the Willow Creek and Junction City weirs in some years between 1978 and 1994. Their population is estimated using tag returns from sport catch data, tags found during carcass counts and tagged fish returning to Trinity River Hatchery. Blanks on the chart above are years for which the California Department of Fish and Game did not estimate the Trinity River coho run above Junction City. Grilse are also known as jack salmon and are generally precocious males that have spent only one year in the ocean. For a link to the CDFG reports, click on Info Links or go to the Bibliography.
