This photo taken in September 1997 shows that this boulder weir on Indian Creek at Mile 11.7 survived high flows. The pool in the foreground was formed partially as a result of scour around the large boulder cluster/root wad placed by Klamath National Forest. Photo provided by Al Olson, Klamath National Forest.
Close up of boulder weir at Mile 11.7 of Indian Creek that shifted as a result of high flows in January 1997. The boulders still provide local scour and help improve habitat diversity. Photo provided by Al Olson, Klamath National Forest. September 1997.
An intact boulder weir at Mile 11.7 of Indian Creek in September 1997. Clean gravels above the weir indicate a redd under construction by fall Chinook salmon. The plunge pool below the weir also provides excellent rearing habitat for juvenile salmonids. Photo provided by Al Olson, Klamath National Forest.
