Temperature: Floating Weekly Average at Aikens Creek 1997-2002 |
|
Caption: This Chart shows the floating weekly average water temperatures at lower Aikens Creek (site139) for the years 1999-2002. Maximum floating weekly average water temperature (MWAT) did not exceed 16.8°C in any year, indicating that temperatures were suitable for coho salmon and other salmonid juveniles for rearing throughout summer. Welsh et al. (2001) found that coho are not likely to persist where MWAT exceeds 16.8°C. Temperature data comes from automated water temperature data probes placed in the Klamath River and its tributaries by the Klamath National Forest and the Karuk Tribe.
