Timber Harvest: Lower Trinity - Harvested Area through 2000 |
|
Caption: This chart shows the total harvested area (acres) by decade in each sub-watershed within the Lower Trinity Planning Watershed. The first time period category includes data prior to 1950. The different colored bars represent the acres harvested per decade, while the total length of the bars show the total area harvested during the period of pre-1950 to 2000. As a whole, timber harvest was most intensive between the 1950 through the 1970; however, harvest activity continued during more recent decades. The Hoopa Reservation has seen the most extensive timber harvest, followed by the Willow Creek sub-watershed. Data are from Graham Matthews and Associates Trinity River Sediment Source Analysis (2001). No data from USFS (Six Rivers NF) or Hoopa Reservation harvests since 1977 were included in Lower Trinity.
