Fish: Horse Linto Cr Downstream Trap Results 1995 |
|
Caption: Six Rivers National Forest staff operated a rotary screw trap to capture downstream migrating salmonids in Horse Linto Creek in 1995 and raw catch results for 1995 are shown here. There were two high flow events in January and March 1995 and Dutra and Thomas (1999) postulate that the events reduced survival of juvenile Chinook, possibly due to bed scour. See Info Links for more information. The very low number on older age steelhead could also be due to low over-winter survival but storms may have only caused earlier out-migration. Young of the year steelhead trapped are likely progeny of adults that spawned after March high flows. The data were collected by the Lower Trinity Ranger District of the Six Rivers National Forest.
