| Caption: The Humboldt Fish Action Council operated downstream migrant traps in several Freshwater Creek tributaries in 1996. The Chart above shows trap results from Graham Gulch. While the fish community structure is dominated by salmonids, young of the year (0+) and yearling (1+) steelhead are predominant. The difference in the sample from that collected in Cloney Gulch suggests that conditions favor steelhead over coho salmon. There is a large rotational landslide in upper Graham Gulch which has contributed major amounts of sediment to the stream. High sediment transport can cause a loss of pool habitat, which is essential for juvenile coho, and decrease spawning gravel quality.
