Sediment: Mill Creek - Cumulative Distribution, McBain&Trush 1999 |
|
Caption: This chart shows results from pool-tail substrate composition analysis of bulk samples in Mill Creek in 1999. The median particle size (D50) of all samples was between 9 and 30mm. Percent fines less than 1 mm ranged from 1-15%, which is favorable for salmonids. Fines less than 6 mm ranged from 11 to 37%. This sand size component could limit salmonid spawning success with five out of eight sites with over 30% in this category (<6.4 mm). Data provided by McBain and Trush (2000).
