Sediment: Matthews Landslides Volume Delivered SFBasin 1921-2000 |
|
Caption: The chart above shows Matthews and Associates (2001) total computed sediment delivery quantities in the South Fork Big River sub-basins per analysis period. Estimates are generated from aerial photographs. The largest landslide sediment contributions appear to have occurred during the 1937-1952 and 1953-1965 periods. The Lower South Fork shows recent activity. Matthews and Associates (2001) note, the actual number of slides in the 1921-1936 period is likely an underestimate, since 1936 aerial photo coverage was unavailable for the eastern half of the watershed.
