Temperature: Floating Weekly Average Lower NF Big River @ 3 Sites1996 |
|
Caption: The floating weekly average temperature of the North Fork Big River at four locations on Jackson Demonstration State Forest in 1996. The North Fork is warmest at the upper boundary of JDSF, is cooled by Chamberlain Creek and warms slightly downstream at the lower JDSF boundary. All sites exceeded 16.8 degrees C in 1996, which indicates that they are above suitable temperatures for coho. The North Fork was cooled more than 0.5 degrees C by Chamberlain Creek during the early summer of 1996. The 16.8 degree C stress threshold for coho salmon was chosen based on Welsh et al. (i2001) and Hines and Ambrose (1998). Click on Info Links for more information. Click on Picture for a map of locations.
