Fish: Fall Chinook Sacramento Escapement above Red Bluff 1952-2003 |
|
Caption: The annual fall chinook returns to the Sacramento River above Red Bluff Diversion Dam from 1952 to 2003 are displayed in this chart. Categories include upper mainstem spawners, those in Battle Creek and other tributaries, and those returning to Coleman Hatchery. While overall returns to the Sacramento above Red Bluff have been robust since 1994, the component of hatchery fish has been increasing. The largest increase has been in Battle Creek "natural" spawning escapement numbers, which are likely inflated by excess Coleman Hatchery fish. Data for years 2000-2003 are provisional and subject to revision. Data provided by the California Department of Fish and Game. See Info Links for more information.
