This image is a histogram of the fork lengths measured for steelhead rainbow trout in Walker Creek during October 1981 by the California Department of Fish and Game. Most steelhead were under 100 mm, which would make them young of the year. Fish between 100-150 mm are generally considered yearlings, and steelhead over 150 mm would be two years old or older. Taken from Emig, 1984.
