WQ: Dissolved Oxygen in Salmon Creek 1996 |
|
Caption: Dissolved oxygen was measured at seven sites in the Salmon Creek watershed during 1996 by Bodega Marine Laboratory students. The graph shows the mean and minimum value (ppm) at each site going downstream from left to right. The reference values represent the minimum North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board (NCRWQCB) 2001 Basin Plan criterion for Cold water habitat (6.0 mg/L) and Warm water habitat (5.0 mg/L) (CRWQCB, 2001). In addition, waters with beneficial use designation of Spawning must meet a minimum criterion of 7.0 mg/L , plus a minimum of 9.0 mg/L during critical spawning and egg incubation periods. The minimum value at Salmon Creek 2 represents stressful conditions for salmonids but the duration of these conditions is unknown.
