Fish: Redwood Creek/Lower II Abundance (Fish/m^2)1995 |
|
Caption: The graph shows juvenile fish density estimates from snorkel counts for the Lower Redwood Creek pools (data summed from two pool sections) above the portable toilets, in 1995. Data were separated from the other pool data in Lower Redwood Creek because this area contains an interspersion of pool, flatwater, and riffle habitats. Densities of coho salmon and steelhead trout were much greater in this area than in Big Lagoon and the downstream pool area in Lower Redwood Creek (above the confluence). Note that snorkel data for juvenile steelhead trout appeared to be less accurate than electrofishing in Pool 2 of this area due to some flatwater habitat, therefore steelhead numbers may be underestimated (see Info Links for details). Data were collected by the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
