         Fish: Redwood Creek/Lower I Abundance (Fish/m^2) 1995 |

    |
Caption:  The graph shows juvenile fish density estimates from snorkel counts for a Lower Redwood Creek pool above the backwater confluence and below the portable toilets, in 1995. As in the Big Lagoon, small numbers of steelhead trout >1+ years were found in this area, but it is thought that the surveys underestimated these fish due to low light conditions and behavior patterns. Although not quantified, prickly sculpin, coastrange sculpin, and unidentified adult newts were also observed. Data were collected by the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
