Fish: Redwood Creek Spawner Salmonid Count by Station 1996-1997 |
|
Caption: Salmonids, with a focus on coho salmon, were counted in Redwood Creek, as well as the tributary Fern Creek, during the 1996-1997 spawner season by the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GOGA). The graph shows these observations by station going downstream. GOGA notes that, similar to the two previous years, no coho or redds were observed in the study area below Pacific Way bridge, which is within the potential Big Lagoon restoration site. Also, GOGA stated that the area within Mt.Tamalpais State Park and lower Muir Woods National Monument (Reach 2) had the highest observations of live coho adults. This area has shown to have a high percentage of riffle habitat units.
