Fish: Redwood Creek 1992-2001, Coho by Site (Fish/100ft) |
|
Caption: This graph shows the average estimated number of juvenile coho salmon per 100 feet of stream for eight Redwood Creek sites sampled in the period 1992-2001. Sites selected for sampling varied among years and no sampling occurred in 1999. Sites 2 and 3 in the upper creek usually had the highest number of coho per 100 feet. Smith (2001) noted that the 1994, 1997, and 2000 year-classes of coho were weak. Data were collected by Dr. Jerry J. Smith of San Jose State University except in October 1998 when it was collected by Darren Fong of Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GOGA). Different numbers of sites and total lengths of stream were sampled between years. See Picture for a map of the sampling sites and Info Links for more information.
